1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the K-Pop News mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

The App is operated by Dobby Canvas ("we", "our", or "us"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Dobby Canvas regarding your use of the App.

2. Description of Service

K-Pop News is a mobile application that delivers curated K-Pop news and trending topics through a swipeable interface. The App aggregates news content from various external sources and provides AI-powered summaries in multiple languages.

Key features include:

• Swipeable news feed with trending K-Pop topics
• Multilingual support with automatic language detection (21 languages)
• Access to original source articles via external links
• Light and dark theme options
• Offline content caching
• Optional premium subscription for an ad-free experience

The App is available in a free, ad-supported version. An optional monthly subscription is available to remove all advertisements.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

4. User Accounts and Authentication

The App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign an anonymous identifier for analytics purposes only. No personal account creation, login credentials, or personal information is required to use the App.

5. Acceptable Use

When using the App, you agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App
• Use the App for any illegal, unauthorized, or unethical purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App, its systems, or networks
• Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to access or scrape content from the App
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices in the App
• Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App or any content within it
• Share your subscription with others (subscription is for single user only)
• Use modified or hacked versions of the App to bypass subscriptions
• Abuse refund policies by repeatedly subscribing and refunding
• Sell, transfer, or lease your subscription to others

Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of your subscription, ban from future subscriptions, or legal action if necessary.

6. Subscription Terms and Conditions

6.1 Monthly Ad Removal Subscription

Product: Remove all advertisements from the App

Duration: 1 month (auto-renewing)

Price: $0.99 USD/month (or local equivalent, e.g. ₩1,200/month, ¥150/month)

6.2 Auto-Renewal

• Your subscription will automatically renew each month unless cancelled
• Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account (iOS) or Google Play Account (Android) at confirmation of purchase
• Your subscription will auto-renew at the same price unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your device's Account Settings after purchase

6.3 What You Get

• Complete removal of all banner advertisements
• Complete removal of all interstitial advertisements
• Uninterrupted reading experience
• Benefits apply across all devices signed in with the same Apple ID or Google Account

6.4 What You Don't Get

• No additional content (all news content is free)
• No exclusive features beyond ad removal
• No offline-only benefits (app functionality remains the same)

6.5 Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

How to Cancel (iOS):

1. Open the Settings app on your device
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap "Subscriptions"
4. Select "K-Pop News"
5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

How to Cancel (Android):

1. Open the Google Play Store app
2. Tap Menu → Subscriptions
3. Select "K-Pop News"
4. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

After Cancellation:

• You will retain premium (ad-free) access until the end of your current billing period
• Advertisements will resume when your subscription expires
• You will not be charged for the next billing period
• You can re-subscribe at any time

6.6 Refund Policy

All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law or as determined by Apple or Google.

Refund Requests (iOS):

Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. To request a refund:

2. Sign in with your Apple ID
3. Find and select your K-Pop News subscription purchase
4. Select "Report a Problem"
5. Choose the reason and submit

Refund Requests (Android):

Refunds are handled by Google according to their refund policy. To request a refund:

1. Visit https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637
2. Sign in to your Google Account
3. Find and select your K-Pop News subscription purchase
4. Follow Google's refund request process

Note:

• Refund requests are subject to Apple's or Google's approval
• We (K-Pop News) do not process refunds directly
• Approved refunds may take 5–10 business days to process

6.7 Billing and Payment Issues

Failed Payments:

If your payment method fails:

• You will receive a grace period (iOS: 16 days, Android: configurable)
• During the grace period, you retain premium access
• Apple or Google will attempt to collect payment multiple times
• If payment ultimately fails, your subscription will be cancelled
• Advertisements will resume after the grace period ends

Double Charges:

If you believe you were charged twice:

• Check both your Apple ID and Google Account for duplicate subscriptions
• You may have accidentally subscribed on both platforms
• Contact Apple Support or Google Play Support for billing disputes
• We cannot refund or modify charges made by Apple or Google

Unauthorized Purchases:

If you see unauthorized subscription charges:

• Change your Apple ID or Google Account password immediately
• Enable two-factor authentication
• Contact Apple or Google to report unauthorized charges
• Review your device security settings

6.8 Changes to Subscription Pricing or Terms

We reserve the right to:

• Modify subscription pricing with 30 days advance notice
• Change subscription features or benefits
• Discontinue the subscription offering

Price Increases:

• Existing subscribers will be notified of price increases at least 30 days in advance
• You can cancel before the price increase takes effect
• If you do not cancel, your continued use constitutes acceptance of the new price

Feature Changes:

• We may add or remove features from the subscription at any time
• Major changes will be communicated through in-app notifications or email

Discontinuation:

• If we discontinue the subscription service, active subscribers will receive a pro-rated refund
• You will retain premium access until your current billing period ends

6.9 Subscription Disclaimers

No Guarantee of Service:

• We strive to provide uninterrupted service but cannot guarantee 100% uptime
• Subscription does not entitle you to compensation for service interruptions
• We are not responsible for issues caused by Apple, Google, or your internet connection

Third-Party Responsibility:

• Payment processing is handled by Apple and Google
• We are not responsible for billing errors, payment failures, or refund issues
• Billing disputes must be resolved with Apple or Google directly

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 App Ownership

The App, including its design, code, interface, and original content, is owned by Dobby Canvas and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

7.2 Third-Party Content

News articles, images, and other media content displayed in the App are sourced from third-party content providers. All third-party content remains the property of its respective owners. We do not claim ownership of any third-party content displayed in the App.

7.3 AI-Generated Summaries

The App provides AI-generated summaries of news articles for informational convenience. These summaries are generated automatically and may not fully represent the original source content. Users are encouraged to access the original source articles for complete and accurate information.

8. Third-Party Services and Links

8.1 Third-Party Services

The App utilizes the following third-party services:

• Firebase Analytics (Google) — for usage analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — for crash reporting
• Firebase Authentication (Google) — for anonymous user identification
• Google AdMob — for advertising (free users only)
• Adjust SDK — for marketing attribution analytics

Your use of these services is subject to the respective providers' Terms of Service and Privacy Policies.

8.2 External Links

The App provides links to third-party websites and news sources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of these external websites. Accessing third-party links is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of those websites.

9. Content Disclaimer

9.1 News Content

The App aggregates and summarizes news content from multiple external sources. We do not author, verify, or endorse the accuracy of the original news content. The content is provided "as is" for informational purposes only.

9.2 AI Summaries

AI-generated summaries are provided for convenience and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or misinterpretations. We make no guarantees regarding the completeness or accuracy of AI-generated summaries.

9.3 No Editorial Responsibility

We do not exercise editorial control over third-party news content. Views and opinions expressed in news articles belong to the original authors and publishers, and do not necessarily reflect the views of Dobby Canvas.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

• THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
• THE CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, OR COMPLETE
• DEFECTS IN THE APP WILL BE CORRECTED
• THE APP OR SERVERS ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Dobby Canvas and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

13. Privacy

14. App Store Terms

Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and conditions of the platform from which you downloaded the App (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the applicable app store terms, the app store terms shall prevail with respect to your use of the App.

14.1 Apple App Store

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and Dobby Canvas only, not with Apple Inc.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
• In the event of any failure of the App, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation
• Apple is not responsible for any third-party claims related to the App
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms

14.2 Google Play Store

If you downloaded the App from the Google Play Store, you acknowledge that Google has no obligation or liability to you with respect to the App or these Terms.

15. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms within the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes through:

• An in-app notification
• An update to the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
• A notice on our website

16. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good faith negotiations. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

18. General Provisions

18.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dobby Canvas regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

18.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18.3 Waiver

The failure of Dobby Canvas to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

18.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
